A SENIOR SUMMER Lavender nights and sweetpea days are lost in summer's blistering haze; a senior summer and I long for peace as time stands still and troubles cease. What used to be will no longer matter, we fill our days with incessant chatter; beach chairs, lawn chairs, early nights beneath the moon and northern lights. Memories fade as time marches on and soon the summer will be gone, leaving only a bit of happy residue when I shared my world with you. Waves wash up on a distant shore, what has been will be no more. time to breathe the clean fresh air, share these days with those who care. Lavender nights and sweetpea days are lost in summer's blistering haze, the sands of time erode my youth leaving me with only a bitter truth. Countrymom 7/10/06
