Pain
A poem about physical pain.

Pain

I feel the waves of agony,
the searing heat of pain.
Burning across my torn back,
brand blazoned on my brain.

Humbled by it's untamed strength
as it waits to strike again.
Caught within it's tightening grip,
held again in it's domain.

I'll writhe and twist upon my bed
as my color slowly drains.
I'll try to stop the tears that come
from an anguish that's insane.

Trapped inside this suffering
when the medication wanes.
I'll lose another battle to
my old nemesis, the pain.
