We were two,
And young. You’re eyes held mine, The softest blue. You gave me a pledge To last through time. “I love you.” A million moments Beautiful and sad Have passed us by. The swift current Has pulled us past And we have had Our fun, unto the last. There was a time This would have been easy But I didn’t want it then. Now I need to show you So you can see. But you wont open your eyes You cant even see me. We aren’t happy. You want a freedom I cant give. You don’t want responsibility. And I hurt you And you hurt me. But you would Go to the end with this Despite the rotting You think this could end In marital bliss. You’re sadly wrong, My old, dear friend.
