Questioning reality,
The broken heart but sighs;
I hope it’s all a fantasy.

I read history and mystery
Through many a reprise,
Questioning reality.

Overcoming my temerity,
I sought wisdom from the skies;
I hope it’s all a fantasy.

Resurrected childhood memory,
Now seen with wizened eyes,
Questioning reality.

Seeking counsel from society,
I found but layers of lies;
I hope it’s all a fantasy.

Now resigned to mortal company,
I await my body's demise;
Questioning reality -
I hope it’s all a fantasy.
