"A Summer Love" ( Sixteenth of June)

With a picnic procured upon our little boat...
Steadily together upon East Lake we did float
With flowers tucked softly into a seashell...
We felt at that moment that all things were well

It truly was perfect right there where we were
All that mattered at this moment was her
And as we embraced in a moment such as this...
The time was right to steal from her a kiss

The day was hers and hers alone
The Sixteenth of June was created for her very own
And now as Summer creeps upon another year...
I hold on to the memory, for she is not here

When I find her yet once again...
A moment alone upon the lake we will spend
One moment alone until Summer's end

I asked her sweetly to stay, but let her slip away
If I could find her today, darkest night would turn to day

All of those days we spent on fire...
Were granted by the heat of Summer's attire
All of those things we deeply felt...
Caused two souls to surely melt

Melting together, we felt as one...
But grew apart after the Summer light was gone
I have yet to find her again, but still I seek
My attempts are nothing but unique

A love that is lost, no matter the cost...
May it be repaired
