“I can’t believe you talked about how I kissed.”

“Well it wasn’t like they were asking me about our relationship.”

“You talked about it on TRL. TRL.”

“They were asking about your character, so I decided not to be all clever and answer the question. But I said you were a good kisser…”

“You did?”

“Yes.”

“Oh. Well okay…that’s cute then. Cause I better be a good kisser…I mean you seem to enjoy it, better let everyone know how great I am.”

“Oh no here we go.”

“You know you love it. I don’t know WHAT those sounds are that you make but they sure sound…”

“Adam.”

“No I’m just saying like that sighing, screeching thing you do, wow.”

“Adam.”

“You know what I forget what it sounds like, really. So let’s go back to the room and practice.”

“Adam. You are CRAZY. You know that?” Rachel asked laughing at him, as usual.

“Crazy about you.”

“Oh that was cheesey.”

“You love it though.”

“I love you,” she said as she pinched his cheek.

“Now who’s the cheesy one?”

They were at some swanky downtown restaurant, sitting in a quiet booth. It was their last night in New York before they headed back to L.A. for the week. Lea decided to spend the night in, BY HERSELF, much to Adam’s delight of course.

“I like this,” said Rachel.

“Like what?”

“Us sitting here…you know together. I don’t know it feels so comfortable or something.”

“I’d hope so.”

“Shut up you know what I mean,” she laughed.

“Yeah I know, I know…No one else around. No roommates or coworkers or EVERYONE.”

“Yeah I mean I LOVE them all, but I love THIS too,” she said lacing her fingers through his.

“Now this is getting really too cute for me.”

“Way to ruin the moment Brody.”

“I try.”

“I can’t believe we’re going back to L.A. tomorrow to fly back here again in a week,” she said yawning and leaning her head on his shoulder.

“Yeah, it’s going to be crazy,” he said smoothing out her hair.

“But I’m glad we had a week here kind of to ourselves, you know? I mean next week everyone else will be here and it’ll be parties and craziness. But this week we got to chill. Sorta.”

“Yeah. I liked being with you…you know here alone and stuff. Makes me look forward to Hawaii.”

“But my family will be there…”

“Yeah but I mean that’s your family, it’s different.”

“Yeah, and don’t worry…I WILL be making some Adam and Rachel alone time.”

“You better,” he said as he leaned in to kiss her.

He didn’t mean for the kiss to turn out into a restaurant booth make-out session. He really didn’t. But she looked so cute leaning on him like that. Who could blame him? Who could blame HER either?

She pulled on his tie, bringing him closer to her, and continued to wrap her arms around his neck. She didn’t know what she was doing or thinking. They were in public. AGAIN. All she knew is that she was having a hard time keeping her hands off of him lately.

He couldn’t stop either. He gently pulled on her lower lip with his lips and placed light kisses up her jaw line, driving her crazy. He went back to her lips, not being able to take a second without them. It was almost scary. His hands were in her hair, down her neck, her arms, waist and legs, it was like he couldn’t get enough of her. And like clockwork, he suddenly felt that burning urgency he often felt when they were together. And they were in a restaurant.

“Eh em!” said the waiter.

“Oh wow. Uh hi,” said Adam.

“Check?”

“Uhh sure.”

The waiter gave them a glare and stalked away as Rachel started to crack up.

“We SO need to stop doing that in public.”

“I can’t help it,” he said kissing her on her neck.

“That’s not, erm, helpiiing,” she said as she shivered under his kisses.

“I know,” he said as he continued.

“Come on let’s go…” she said, raising her eyebrows suggestively.

“Sounds good to me.”

--------------------------------------------------------------

“Wow.”

“Yeah WOW.”

Adam and Rachel were back at their hotel room, wrapped up in blankets and sheets and each other. They had gone straight to the hotel after the restaurant. It made for a VERY interesting cab ride.

“I am thinking it's a sign…”

“What’s a sign?” she asked confused.

“…that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned…”

“Ad-”

“And I have to speculate, that God Himself did make us into corresponding shapes like puzzle pieces from the clay…” he sang as he looked her and traced his fingers down the side of her face.

“Whaaaa-”

“Your SO beautiful, you know that?”

“Stop…”

“You are,” he said kissing her.

“You’re really being too sweet tonight…” she said cuddling closer to him.

“Yeah it happens from time to time.”

“Ha. Ha…It should happen more often.”

“Then it wouldn’t be that special.”

She rolled her eyes at him and said, “What was that song anyway…it was pretty.”

“The Postal Service.”

“Oh…one of YOUR bands?”

“Hey do not make fun.”

“I’m not. I really liked those lyrics. They were sweet.”

“They reminded me of you…of us…you know…” he said mumbling.

“Yeah?”

“Mmmm hmmm.”

“You’re having one of your sweet moments.”

“Yeah….I am,” he said looking at her directly in the eye.

“I can’t believe my life.”

“Huh?”

“This. My life. Like last year it was SO different. Now it’s this THING, you know? It’s what I’ve always wanted. And somehow I got you along with it.”

“That you did. You’re one lucky lady.”

“Yeah. I am,” she said cuddling closer to him and yawning.

“Tired?”

“Yeah. You tired me out,” she said laughing.

“I’m that awesome, see.”

“Mmm Hmmm…whatever you say. I’ll see you in the morning,” she said turning over facing her back to him, teasing him a little.

“Hey come here,” Adam said sliding up closer behind her and putting his arms around her, spooning her. “That better?” he asked

“Much.”

“Good. Night.”

“Night. I love you…”

“I love you.”
