the lament of the driploof
A mono-rhyme poem

so sad, poor old driploof
committing a series of faux pas, such a goof
though this is certainly small proof
of why he wanders bout, so aloof

social misfit thereabouts, sad old driploof
ignore the rainbow umbrella, why worry about being rainproof?
sitting valiantly alone on the penthouse roof
while faithful companions utter elsewhere a plaintive woof
below, not understanding human nature is foolproof

scattered in life, poor misfitted driploof
in the eye of social storms, he is sure to be windproof
six foot eight, two hundred pounds, he's commonly loveproof
only man's best dogs smile, too bad he's also friendproof
his tender heart, is much too crushproof
his life has become more broken than shatterproof
sitting alone on city-top roof, feet resting on a soggy poof
contemplating the niceties of finally being lifeproof
this sad scattered driploof

the lament of the driploof
