Parting brought such sorrow, yet felt it must be done Lived a life of horror, played a game that no one won Tried to forget the lies told, and to make myself forget Now living in a nightmare and consumed with much regret Parting hurt like hell, yet I could not live that way You deceived me too often, role of god-like did you portray For years I looked at you like a knight in shining armor, Until your lies were exposed and I could take it no longer Parting didn’t come easily, I always spoke the truth, But you twisted everything, said the truth was misconstrued I leave you now in body, though I did so long ago in heart Thankful for the freedom felt now that we’re apart
