Wish You’d Let Me Help

Sometimes you feel second best,
Sometimes you just need a rest.
I know you need to hear,
That I will always be near.
Why can’t you come to me,
When life’s so hard to see?
Why am I your last choice?
Just listen to my voice.
I know you can be the man you want,
I know you can get out when you’re caught.
I wish that you could understand,
I believe in you, I’ll hold your hand.
I wish you could hear,
Could see,
Could know,
Could understand.
That I’m always here,
I’m always me.
I’ll never go.
I reach out my hand
All the way.
Everyday.
Can’t you just hear my cry?
Can’t you just hear me sigh?
I wish I could be called
“That’s the one I want.”
Or that I could just be near,
And tell you without fear,
“I want to be one of your closes friends,
I don’t want this to end.”
I just want to say,
I’m here to stay.
Just let me help you through life,
Through the lows and highs,
I know I’ll never be your one,
But I want to help some.
I want you to look back and say,
“She got me to where I am today.”
