Flair For Writing
Favorite Books Editor: Megan Rose Princess Megan Rose 10 Years Assistant Editor: AngelAngel ** #1141465 Not An Image ** Hello Everyone! Can you believe that summer is about over? Our County Fair came and went. I had a 2 week vacation and I went to the Beach with my family and did some shopping. Angel is designing a book cover for jeanimoo for Jeanie's book of poems. Jeanie is a dear friend of ours that we love. Angel designed my book cover for Princess Of Scruples and she does almost all my sigs for my stories. We all love books. We are here at Writing, com writing stories, poems and books. Who inspires us? Other authors. So, if you are a writer/author, you have to be a reader of books, too. Angel and I decided to write about our favorite books. I spend a lot of time at Barnes and Nobles. They have almost every book ever written it seems like. Alright. I will let Angel go first. Here are Angel's favorite books. Angel's favorites: 1st Book: I will always remember reading The Diary Of Anne Frank. I was very young. I think around the age of 15. I was really taken in by her diary. I read it again in the 80's. That poor girl. What a life when I think about it. We do have it pretty good here. I am sorry about what happened to her and her family. Born on June 12, 1929, Anne Frank was a German-Jewish teen-ager and she and her family had to go into hiding during the Holocaust. She and her family along with four others, spent 25 months during World War 2 in an annex of rooms above her father's office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After being betrayed to the Nazis, Anne, her family and the others living with them were arrested and deported to Nazi Concentration camps. In March of 1945, nine months after she was arrested, Anne Frank died of typhus at Bergen-Belsen. She was fifteen years old. Her dairy saved during the war by one of the family's helpers, Miep Gies was first published in 1947. Today, her diary has been translated into 67 languages and is one of the most widely read books in the world. My 2nd favorite book was a scary one, It by Steven King. It was very long and scary. Never read this in the night time. I had nightmares about that ugly, nasty, terrible clown. One night, I had a dream that he was bothering me. So, I said to him: "You don't exist. Go away!" Wow! He did. I never had that dream again. After having those nightmares, I donated this book to the library. My 3rd favorite book: The Light in the Living Room By Author, Gates McKibbin. This is a spiritual book. After her father died, he started to send messages and that is what inspired her to write these books. Her father was sending messages for us to know about why we are sent here to this planet and have to make the best of our life so we can better ourselves. My 4th favorite book is: Princess Of Scruples by Denise Sinn. It just came out. You need to buy this book. It is wonderful. This is about a gypsy daughter of King Edwards, Princess Arabella's mother was a gypsy. Her mother died and her gypsy family takes her to the castle to be raised by her biological father and his wife. Arabella marries her Prince but she schemes and meets her evil twin sister Anna who wants what she has and tries to take her husband. Arabella is on to her sister and tries to act like an evil Queen {after she becomes Queen} but she isn't and keeps her family together as her gypsy grandfather and gypsy aunt shows up and Arabella realizes royalty and peasants and gypsys are people no matter what. You will find dragons in this book as well as some comedy and how Arabella black mailed a friar and pirates invaded her castle. This is all I am going to tell you about this story. Arabella's story does have a happy ending. You need to buy the book and see for yourself. I give this book 5 stars. 5th book by: Charles Dickens. Charles was born in Portsmouth, England on February 7, 1812. He was the second of eight children. His father worked as a clerk for the Navy Pay office and was imprisoned for debt when Charles was very young. Dickens went to work at a warehouse when he was twelve and his brush with poverty and hard times affected him deeply. He later recounted these experiences in the semi-autobiographical novel David Cooperfield. His concern for social justice and reform which surfaced later in hos writings grew out of harsh conditions that he experienced in the warehouse. Although he had little formal schooling, he was able to teach himself shorthand and launch a career as a journalist. Some of my favorite books are: A Message From the Sea The Battle of Life A Christmas Carol The Haunted House The Trial For Murder Doctor Marigold Going Into Society Hard Times: A satire about the effects of unfettered capitalism, set in Victorian Britain. Holiday Romance in Four Parts The Holly Tree Hunted Down: Detective stories of Charles Dickens The Lampligher The Lazy Tour of Two Idle Appearances Mugby Junction Mrs; Lirriper's Lodgings Mrs. Lirrier's Legacy Sunday Under Three Heads The Seven Poor Travelers The Chimes Megan here. Thanks, Angel. I love Charles Dickens. I also like Anne Frank's Diary. It is sad and heartfelt. Princess Of Scruples is the book I wrote under the name of Denise Sinn. You can get it at Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles.com Thank you, Angel for promoting me. I love you. Megan Here are my favorite books: Phillipa Carr and Victoria Holt Novels Phillipa and Victoria are the same person. She wrote a lot of good Medieval novel with romance, wars, action, suspense, tearful moments, the plagues, deceit, evil, good and so true to history and Medieval times. I love all her books. Good characters like royalty as well as poor peasants of England. Phliippa's series started out in the 1500's in England and went from generation to generation all the way up World War 2. Beautifully detailed stories and this makes you want to track your family back to the Medieval Times. Does anyone know if this is possible? Danielle Steel Novels. My favorite author. She writes about romance, modern day society and rich people as well as poor. Her main caracter is always a woman. Her main characters suffer abuse, divorce, death of a child, sibling rivalry not to mention a young woman who left Germany after her kind Nazi husband was killed and whose father was killed by the Nazis. One of Steel's characters went to prison for a crime she didn't commit. Another woman went to Viet Nam to find her missing husband. I think Steel's characetrs has suffered every fate like soap opera characters. These stories have something for every woman. Danielle's books have sold millions. I once got an e-mail from Danielle who wished me luck on my writing and is so glad I am a big fan of hers. Susannah's Garden by: Debbie Macomber
Nancy Drew Books: We all love Nancy Drew and her friends Bess and George and her boyfriend Ned. Isn't it amazing Nancy solved 100 mysteries and more and never got past the age of 19? I always admired her. Scarlet By: Alexandra Ripley This countinues where Gone With The Wind left off. Scarlet has a brief affair with her soon to be ex-husband and moves to Ireland to meet her father's family and gives birth to her and Rhett's child. She meets an Englisg creep who tries to rape her and she is accused of murdering him and Rhett learns that Scarlet is in Ireland and goes back to help Scarlet and learns about his daughter and finds the real killer as he and Scarlet are reunited. A story and movie to love even though Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable are long gone but you love the story just the same. I am glad that Scarlet and Rhett finally got a happy ending. By Honorary Bound By: Helen A. Rosburg Honnneure Mansari, an orpaned child of a lowly servant finds herself a job as a companion to Marie Antionette. Her beloved foster brother Philipe also serves the young Princess. Honneure and Phillipe loved each other like lovers. She finds she has a rival{a young servant girl to a Countess that hates Antionette} for Phillipe as well as an enemy of Antionette's, Madame, the Countess Du Barry who also hates Honneure. The rival woman and Du Barry scheme to keep the lovers apart. Marie Antionette marries King Louis and the French Revolution arises as Honneure and Phillipe are seperated. Marie Antionette is sentenced to the guillotine and Honneure may be guillotined as well. Only Phillipe can save her. Will he be able to in time? A good story here and you feel sorry for Antionette as she and Honneure became best friends. What will the price of freindship be? A great romance as well as a good account of the history of France. Jane Austen:I love Jane Austen. Her books have been around for two centuries. She lived in Regency Times and wrote about them. Her characters live on literally. Modern day authors write about the lives of Mr. Darcy{most handsome man that all women want!}, Elizabeth Bennett and her sisters and their story was written two hundred years ago. This is literature at it's best. The Twilight Series: I love Twilight. I love romance, vampires, werewolves and the characters in this series. They are fantasy, action packed and who wouldn't have a hard time choosing between a vampire and werewolf when it comes to love? Yes! I love the Twilight movies as well. These are our favorites. We hope that you will want to read these great books. Our next newsletter will be in October. We will be writing about Halloween and in November and December, Christmas. Yes! Christmas! If you have any stories or ideas, please e-mail Angel or myself. See you in October! Hugs: Megan and Angel All beautiful sigs done by Angel! ![]() ** #733988 Not An Image ** ![]() ![]() ![]()
