How shall I thank you for your love?
Your willing hug, your easy smile, Your love came through your open arms And gave me comfort for awhile. How shall I thank you for your love? When I had burdens hard to bear You gave me hope; you gave me strength. You pulled me up from deep despair. How shall I thank you for your love? You proved my worth; you gave me pride. You helped me show to all the world The fearless girl who lived inside. How shall I thank you for your love When my whole life, I owe to you? You gave me birth, you helped me grow. You know the troubles I’ve been through. And now, with this, I say “thank you.” You’ve journeyed with me to the end. I dedicate this poem to you. You are my mother and my friend. (for my mom…..) • Written in abcb, 8-8-8-8 format.
