NAMES IN STONE
Dedicated to Veterans and those serving at present. In the town that I live in, The one that is my home A memorial was erected… Names etched in stone. A tribute to all veterans, With space for many more, Those who served with honor, This country, when at war. We’ll gather at that monument, On each Memorial Day The Color Guard will pass by And Taps someone will play. We’ll offer a prayer to God For names already there, Then offer up another one, For the space still laying bare. When the present war is over, The one we are now in And the soldier’s job is finished, The stone cutter’s will begin. Monty
