Sliding slowly
To a deep And darksome state Of tossing sleep Where phantoms wail And goblins peer With baleful eyes That feed my fear. Burbles glurp And gritty grinds Send skin all crawling- Torment blinds. Dank and morbid Drifts the shreds Of strangling mists that shroud my head. As terror mounts And mind feels shock, I jolt awake. Ah, welcome clock!
