Silly title I think, but a fairly good poem.

Secrets

This entire place reminds me of you;
The setting,
The smell,
The atmosphere.

I see the pictures of your past
And believe that each has a thousand words.
But one in particular catches my eye,
And I begin to question.

You did what I still do -
Place that mask of happiness to hide your sorrows.
Your eyes were red from crying,
And I have a good idea what of.

How much pain have I caused you?
How much misery have you been through?
To see someone like you in such distress
Seems to empty my heart of all feelings but pain.

Some may see it, some may not,
But I hurt to know you hurt.
They say that Life is harsh
And perhaps they’re right.

But together we can prove them wrong,
And let them be the ones to question us.
Tell me of your pains and sorrows,
Tell me of your fears…

… And I’ll tell you mine.
