Life feels so good today! Unfortunately, It’s not always mostly that way. Fortunately, There are still enough days, like today, When life feels full of simple, sweet pleasures The coffee is hot, good, and plentiful I can smoke my cigarettes in calculated peace Fortunately, The marauding non-smokers aren’t barking at my door. Unfortunately, It’s not like that every day. The grandchildren are all still sleeping Worn out, exhausted from yesterday’s digging Unfortunately, I’ve yet to feel like cleaning up the mess they made Fortunately, Their love for me is not measured on how neat I keep my house. My husband’s already left for work today, Like he does most every day, too often on Saturdays and Sundays too Fortunately He loves what he does, and his employment provides us a contented living Unfortunately The man knows no desire to retire Writing Freelance reassures me that I can still be productive Even with my grandkids under foot Unfortunately, I’m never going to be content, rich, or famous Fortunately, I have no need of fortune or fame to enjoy life’s simple, sweet pleasures.
