Illusions
just another silly poem

you tell me you love me in the moonlight
our bare legs entwined on the mattress
mimic the shape our souls entwined in our chests
i breathe in the scent of you mixed
with the scent of jasmine in the humid heat of summer
this is contentment

you tell me you need me under the stars
the sound of your voice against my ear is intense
and it both scares and elates me
I hold you tighter, and long to be closer than ever before
my fingers wrapped in your hair
symbolizes my being, wrapped up in yours
please don't leave me

You tell me you want me in the dark
your fingers as they touch me sear a path into my core
the offering of my body as a sacrifice to you is just a formality
As you already possess all of me
my desperate responses to your touching
stem from the fact that soon it will be morning
and everything will change.
