Holding On
When is it time to let go?

Your memory wafts gently through the room,
nudging me softly, like an autumn breeze.

We danced in here once,
our souls intertwined
in a lover’s waltz.
floating carelessly,
unaware.

I clutch your dusty letters once more,
and the delicate dream fades away.

I’m pulled to the present,
to cracked and flaking paint
of an aged windowsill;
to the horizon beyond -
a harmony I can’t touch.

Your memory calls endlessly to me,
signed with the signature of eternal bond.
