My Dreams Brought You Back

My dreams brought you back last night,
I dreamed you were here with me.
Just for a while all the world was right,
my problems I could no longer see.

Life was magical once more,
I saw your wonderful face.
I felt my skin tingle to the core,
and I knew you were sent by God's grace.

Then the excitement occurred,
you reached out and touched my cheek.
All of a sudden my vision blurred,
the image of you was growing weak.

I awoke with great feeling,
my heart was beating so fast.
I almost felt like I was flying,
then I remembered it would not last.

It is just another dream,
for you are not truly here.
But as far away as we may seem,
I will bring you back tonight, my dear.
