Thank you for stopping by. I am very proud of my first book, The Fifteenth Scarecrow. Here's a small part of the first chapter- to wet you appetitie.

From Chapter One: *Star*

         "Bib-big-bumble-bee all in free."

Everyone was in except for my brother Danny. He was the best hider. Danny had been known to climb into a well, wiggle under some hay or hide behind the outhouse to escape detection.

"Big-big-bumble-bee all in free."

"Who's not in?" Mother asked from the porch.

"Danny."

"Danny Downing," Mother called. "The game is over. Time for chores."

It was nearly nine o'clock, and the sun was getting lower in the west. The June bugs were swarming, and lightning bugs were blinking on and off. It was unseasonalby hot for June. The days were well above eighty degrees. After dinner, Mother and Father allowed us time to play before evening chores and bedtime.

"Call him again, Weezy," Mother said.

"Big-big-bumble-bee all in free," I hollered, my hands cupped around my mouth to produce a louder call.

When there was still no response from Danny, I said, "He doesn't want us to see his hiding place, Mother."

"Well, then you had better go tell your father that Danny will not be helping with evening chores."

Hearing that, Danny crawled out from under the porch and said, "Here I am."

I've just finished reading this wonderful book from cover to cover today, and I can vouch for the fact that it truly is a masterpiece!

Before long, I'll be starting on the next one called The Matchmaker--perhaps, while I'm waiting on my minivan to get some needed repairs done.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you--and everyone else!--know that The Fifteenth Scarecrow is definitely a first-rate page-turner, imo! It should be made into a movie!

Kudos!
