Illusion
To hell with all that's good and nice.
Just go ahead and take my life.
My heart is fragile, and it's yours,
so please don't break it.
Hold my hand and touch my life.
You are my heaven and my strife.
You are my breath; I slowly die
when I'm without you.
Just walk the narrow bridge with me.
It spans the deep and distant sea.
And if we fall, we'll fall in hard,
and never rise.
And though ambitions trail behind,
we just don't care inside our minds.
Because our love is all that matters,
in this place.
And even though the warnings blare,
we walk ahead 'cause we don't care.
Whatever wants to happen will,
and we can't stop it.
We walk upon the shaking pass.
The water lies as calm as glass.
But underneath, it swirls with
doubts and bouts of fear.
But we continue to walk on.
You clutch my heart; I am your pawn.
The pass, it shakes and shivers
now beneath my feet.
The rope, it suddenly starts swinging
and the sirens calling—singing,
and the clasps break loose and plunge
us into black.
We sink into the murky depths.
You swim away, and I am left.
I reach for light, but all I find is
cold deceit.
So I continue to drop down
I know my fate; it is to drown.
And suddenly, love seems to be...
A deadly thing.
