The bottom of the sea
Poem for the Senior Mod's Contest

Darkness, cold salty water
surrounded me, but it did not bother me at all
as I walked on the bottom of the North Sea
I saw a pale flash of moonlight
showing me the way.
There, a shipwreck in the distance
where king herring was waiting for me
to talk about the polluting people
poisoning their home; the North Sea.
I saw the glance of a jellyfish
who seemed to pass me with a smile
escorted by a division of angry mackerels
banned, to a deeper part of the sea he’d be.
I arrived for the throne of king herring
and bowed down for his majesty
he told me all his wishes, then a sudden…gone was he.
I walked back on the bottom
to the shore, where you found me
in my hand I held a petition, signed by many fish
to save the beautiful North Sea.
