Here are the original lyrics:

Too Marvellous For Words
From the film "Ready, Willing And Able" (1937)
(Richard Whiting / Johnny Mercer)

I search for phrases
To sing your praises
But there aren't any magic adjectives
To tell you all you are!

You're just too marvellous
Too marvellous for words
Like glorious, glamorous
And that old standby, amorous

It's all too wonderful
I'll never find the words
That say enough, tell enough
I mean, they just aren't swell enough

You're much too much
And just too very, very
To ever be in Webster's Dictionary

And so I'm borrowing
A love song from the birds
To tell you that you're marvellous
Too marvellous for words

…and here is my version, all about penning tributes and parodies…

In My Own Words
From the film “In your dreams, Outasync”
(Outasync/Johnny Mercer)

I want to be
A songwriter
But I can’t do the music side at all
I’m only good with words

I’m no musician
I only work with words
And that’s hard enough, I’m not bard enough
To try my hand at harder stuff

I take some well-known song
And play ‘round with the words
To suit my style, for a while
And maybe make somebody smile

Sometimes it’s tough
To keep with rhyme and rhythm.
But given time enough, I can usually go with ‘em

And so I'm borrowing
A song you may have heard
I keep the tune, I simply like
To put in my own words.
