Crinkled Paper To hell with writing villanelles With all their repetitious rules— I'd rather work on something else. I favor not to waste brain cells on formats only fit for fools; To hell with writing villanelles. My patience ebbs as my floor swells With crinkled paper pile accruals. I'd rather work on something else. Like razor blades and shaving gels Endangering my family jewels, To hell with writing villanelles. Unless I master magic spells, I just don't have the proper tools. I'd rather work on something else. I'd rather ruin my nose with smells Of Martha Stewart's stinking stools! To hell with writing villanelles; I'd rather work on something else. Villanelle rules : 3rd line ends stanzas 3&5, and both comprise the final couplet
