I was your ordinary everday girl with an ordinary everyday life. I lived in Los Angeles. "The land of Dreams". I didn't think so, but hey. I was 16 and had the most awesome black Brono any girl could want, then again, I was the only girl I knew who had that bronco. I hated guys, they had all been jerks to me since I was in the 9th grade, perhaps it was my fault...but lets not get into that. It was a hot summer day, school just let out for summer and, already, I was packing for my vacation, which I was NOT looking forward to.
"Destiny!" My mom called for me downstairs. I shoved my last pair of pants into my empty bag, looked up into my empty closet and exhaled deeply. That's it...I'm ready, I thought to myself. I slowly pulled my legs out from under me and made my way to the downstairs kitchen. "yes..." I replied before I entered. She handed me the phone whispering to me that my Aunt Gabriella awaited on the other end. My aunt Gabriella...she was awesome. Her and I had always gotten along so well. She was fun. She used to live in the San Fernando Valley with us but she moved last year to some place in Oklahoma...Tulsa? I always forgot what it was called. My aunt wasn't married, she was still in her 20's, mid-20's. So my mom was pretty reluctant to send me to her house for the summer, but after a bit of begging from Aunt Gaby and I, she let. On the phone my Aunt explained to me that her next door neighbors had a very good looking son about a year older than myself. I was happy, until I realized he was probably just another guy. ------------------------------------ "This is it...this is my place." Aunt Gaby slid her sunglasses back over her head, holding back her thick curly brown hair. Her and I were the only females of the family who inherited the emerald eyes and brown hair, although my hair was straight and much more vibrant with natural highlights of red and gold. I walked up the drive way with two suit cases in my hands. I looked up at the beautiful, spanish-style, two story house. I can do this, I thought to myself with a smile. As soon as I unpacked, I plopped down onto the lush down-comforter she had on the guest bed I was to be occupying. This was a queen bed, just like mine at home, so this was nice. The room looked so bare, I thought as I rummaged through my bag looking for my pictures and frames. If I'm going to be here for a three months, I might as well make it look more like home. I woke up the next morning to a bowl of soggy cereal. Aww, my aunt attempted breakfast in bed. I pushed aside the bowl and gulped the oranged juice down. She left me a note with her work schedule, the keys to her other car and a list of places to go. I jingled the keys in my hand. I missed my Bronco. I decided I needed a tan before going out and being that there were no beaches, poolside was the next best thing. I put on a thong and a bra because I needed a bathing suit and that was the first thing on my to-do list. I was out there for a good 45 minutes, almost dozing off to the relaxing sound of the waterfall in the pool, when a green tennis ball dropped out of the sky, seemingly, and konked me on the head. "Ow, shit!" I mumbled as I looked around to see where it could have come from. "You get it..." "No you!" "You threw it!" I heard two mature voices, male voices...hmmm...they sounded like they were around my age. "Well someone get it or its mine" I laughed and got the ball. I went over to the gate in the fence that seperated our yard from theirs. And I opened it forgetting that I was in my underwear. I very very beautiful face appeared in place of the door. WOW was the word that passed through my mind. The boy's eyes went from my face to my body, obviously observing my lack of clothing. I looked down in complete embarassment and shouted "CRAP!" Beautiful boy laughed. I screamed for him to hang on as I darted through the open sliding doors and upstairs to my room. I grabbed a shirt and a pair of shorts and returned to my place in front of Mr. Gorgeous, fully dressed this time. "I'm sorry, I'm Gabby's neice..." I extended my hand to his in introduction and after his met mine, I realized I had forgotten the ball. I left it upstairs. He told me it was alright and they had many others. "Gaby told us about you coming down," He smiled,"I'm Taylor and..." He turned in search of the other voice I had heard earlier. A long haired boy, tall, and pretty thick, not fat, but thick, appeared on the patio steps, "Thats Zac" Taylor finished. "Nice to meet you guys," It was true, I was happy to have met them. They were beautiful. "I'm destiny" I told Taylor my name. "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl" Taylor said louder than he wanted to. I just blushed. "What are you doing later?" Taylor looked up at me, his beautiful crystal blue eyes pierced my heart, "Maybe I...er...we, could show you around...I mean with you being here for 3 months and all, Might as well get started!" His smiled was so friendly and giving, I couldn't say no. ------------------------------------- I stooed on Taylor's door step, taking a deep breath. I fixed my white DKNY sleeveless shirt and adjusted my dark denim Levi's 517 (my favorite pair). I slowly pressed my finger to the button, a ring echoed threw the house. I suddenly felt so nervous, my heart pounded as the door knob turned. An attractive woman, no taller than myself, with blonde hair to her knees, greeted me with a warm smile. She introduced herself as Mrs. Hanson. Like everyone else, she commented on the originality of my name, and then welcomed me into her house. From the outside you would have never guessed that 7 children ranging in the ages of 2-19 years lived in this house, but as I stood in the foyer of the house, I realized it. Children laughing loudly in various rooms, but my attention turned to the perfect, strong figure at the descending of the staircase. A smile spread across my face, for some reason I always became shy around Taylor which was weird because usually I was assertive and aggressive around guys. I absent mindedly tucked a strand of hair behind my ears as he came towards me. ----------------------------------- We listened to oldies as we passed through downtown Tulsa. The opening notes of "In My Life" came on. "I love this song!" I exclaimed. Taylor started singing along and I turned to watch him. It looked so natural. He looked so amazing. "Wow, you've got a great voice." I commented. "Thanks" He said shyly. He explained to me that he and his brothers have a thing for music. They write songs and play instruments, but it was nothing more than a hobby. Taylor and I talked, periodically he'd stop to pointout "hot spots" or interesting places. I told him about my Bronco, my love for the Beatles, and skimmed the surface of my disliking for guys. He told me about his love for music, HIS love for the Beatles, and vintage style clothing. As we passed the mall, I told him I needed to go tere for a bathing suit, he blushed remembering the state I was in when we met that morning. -------------------------------------- Taylor sat feeling very uncomfortable in the women's dressing room. He and Destiny had picked out 4 sets of bikini's. he volunteered to give his second opinion, but as he sat there he realized that the bathing suits rather revealing. Sure Taylor saw her in her underwear that morning, but for some reason this was different. The door squeaked as it opened, Taylor immediatly took his eyes off the door and looked at his shoes. He could feel her looking at him. "How is this?" She stood in the doorway of the tiny dressing room. "Nice..." Taylor didn't bother to look at her. His shoe was nice he thought, he then took his gaze off from his boots and looked in her direction. He started at her feet and moved his eyes up slowly. Her body was so smooth and tan. Her waist curved in perfectly. Her chest...well he moved his eyes away, being a gentleman, and her face...beautiful, blemish-free, the apples of her cheeks glowed as a smile spread across her face. He remembered they talked about how she used to have braces, he noticed how straight her teeth were. Her emerald eyes glistened through her long eyelashes. After they picked a bathing suit, the drive home was pretty quiet. Taylor would steal glimpses. He knew that she would make an impression his whole life. And he realized that he had only three months of the rest of his life with her.
