Before the nights end
and after the fall only her voice will be my solace Resting my head upon her bosom if only to feel breath still her heart sings our song From afar I see the city aglow of flames obscured by smoke is the twilit sky palpable is the scent of death Only her touch I feel pain, grief, anger: all are gone together we will await a silent death A single tear will I shed not for the fall man but for the fall of one woman In the end only lovers will be left alive
