Two paths
at a crossroad, which direction should you head

There are two paths before me
One on my left and one on my right
Before I decide to choose one
I must stop and look behind

One path I know for sure
It’s safe, comfortable and secure
But also a little sad
The path has been taken so many times

Like most, it has cracks and chips.
Its stones are uneven and hard to avoid
But it’s so familiar how can I not take it
Or it could be a path I will soon regret.

The other path I don’t know what it's like
It’s scary, lonely, and unpredictable
But I feel at peace looking at this path
And something strong is pulling at me fast.

There are two paths before me
I can only take one
One on my left or one on my right
Which one should I tread?
