On Writing .Com

by Alice Shevitz

I am so grateful for the Writing.Com website. I have been a member for three years now and I wanted to share my thoughts and gratitude about this website and what it has to offer. There are many places on the internet to read the thoughts of others and to express our own thoughts and opinions. On Writing.Com, we can create our own websites, create blogs, enter chat rooms, send instant messages and, of course, indulge in our passion for writing. Writing.Com allows us to do all of these things in one place.

Whether we consider ourselves authors or not and whether we want to be published or not, we all use words to reveal who we are and to share ourselves with others. We all weave those words together differently to create the fabrics of our lives and of our imaginations.

We tell our stories and our stories heal us. We all have imaginings, and our imaginings heal us. We expose ourselves in our fiction, our non-fiction, our essays and particularly in our poetry. Our humor reveals us in ways that nothing else can.

I wish there were enough hours in the day to read every word written by every author on Writing.Com. We release ourselves when we write and absorb other selves when we read. It’s a circle, the circle of life. Another form of Karma.

Just as the universe exists in an atom, the world can exist in a word. String together many words and create many worlds.

Writing can create miracles. Writing is a miracle. *"In the beginning was the Word".
