As I look up into the night
I see the shining stars I try to block out distant noise, the sound of passing cars. I can't find what I'm looking for, It's not up in the sky. "Perhaps it's just behind a cloud," Still, I can't help but cry. I think about a night long past, Yes, that was when I saw it last Up in the sky, up in the air I saw it then, I saw it there. Clearly, I remember now, I saw it on that glorious night Went upon the grass, when I gazed up, I saw its radient light. I felt it then, I could not stand, My knees gave out, I fell I laid upon my back, stared upward, Within me, all was well Yet now it's gone, I see no trace Thinking thoughts and facing space, Open my eyes, I lift my head, Maybe I'll see it tomorrow instead.
