Jesus, know that when i run
i'm not running from you
but from myself.
Running from the failures of my flesh,
and my incomplete desire.
When i've been foolish, petulant even,
this is my only escape.

Jesus, know that when i run
i crave your company.
Please run with me,
for if you dont i may never stop.
I will run and run and run
'cause noone but you can break my cycle.

Jesus, know that when i run
i am afraid.
Fearful of the voices in my head.
My wrongs chasing me in a
never-ending circle.
Round and round we go.
I trip, they grab me.

Why can't i escape into your heaven?
Where the pressure is no longer suffocating,
where there are no unanswered questions,
where i can hide from Satan forever.

Why can't i stop loving you Jesus?
This journey is so hard sometimes,
but i know i can't stop, because
im not living for me.
I'm living for something greater.

Jesus, know that when i run
its when i need your love the most.
You say 'hush' and my pounding heart
stills...
