Up In A Bottle
one of my favorite poems, written when I was a teenager.

The bottle starts out empty,
There's nothing there to show,
But then as you get older,
It has a constant flow.

You first put in depression,
From something as you live,
And then you're feeling helpless,
Like there's nothing left to give.

You put in social problems,
Like love and broken hearts.

The bottle isn't empty,
'Cause by now there's many parts.

And then in goes some anger,
That's boiled up inside,
It makes you want to run away,
You want to run and hide.

And then you get the feeling,
That nothing really matters,
And just before you know it,
The bottle finally shatters.
