Easy, breezy.. The Basics
The basics as to how to enter a contest and add your entry to it

Welcome!!

I've created this item specifically for those who would like to enter contests, yet don't know exactly how to do that.

After I opened my contests, there were a few people inquiring as to how one adds an entry. Explaining it wasn't hard, but it required time to explain it to each and every participant. Even though I really didn't mind, I figured it would be easier to have an item explain those few basics.

If you are interested in more than just how to enter a contest, you might want to reffer to http://www.writing.com/main/tools/action/writingml/type/more1 which actually is the regular WritingML and includes everything in detail.

Shall we begin? *Smile*

Whenever you want to enter a contest, you need to post a new message. That is also where you post your item or better yet item number. Don't write the number in the entry line though.

To post an entry it's usually a static item, but it can be something else as well. I'll show you how to post an item, in this case, in my contests.

First you use { then write bitem right next to it and the sign : after which comes the specific item number and you close it with }.

My item number for the poetry contest is 1080342

This is how it should look:

{bitem:1080342} and once you write that, it will show this:

PoEtRy CoNtEsT - ROUND 10 - OPEN
It's finally back!! Let's see your skills in poetry!

In case someone is asking for an item number all you do is write item instead of bitem.

Like this:

{item:1114141} which, in this case is my Story Contest and it will show you this:

"Story Teller's Contest - Round 7

However, most contests require items posted in the bitem form.

I really hope that this was helpful and that you join many, many contests. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to do so.

If you have any trouble at all, just visit this little site here:

and you'll get all the answers youl'll need. *Smile*

Thank you for the visit!
