Harrowing, excruciating, who ever thought
That my faith in God could ever be bought You may be wondering, “How could this be?” Just wait a moment, I’ll tell you, you’ll see… It all began several years back When prayer in school was under attack It’s just a formality you heard everyone say I thought, “Big deal…at home they can pray” I continued to sit back and made no fuss As children grew violent and started to cuss I knew better then, but it was too late It was called separation between church and state That’s not all, it gets worse than this I pretended to live in a state of mere bliss As outside my home drug dealers were paid And I totally ignored that “Roe versus Wade” What did I do to stop all this mess? Absolutely nothing, I have to confess Now ministering Jesus no more is allowed And that “anti-Christ” leader has everyone wowed Now I’ve been brought here with a choice to make Will I forsake Christ and live or die for His sake? Oh, I know that He made the right choice for me But, I want to live so with them I’ll agree It was a very tough choice I am sure you can note But there is one last thing I would rather you quote: “If only I had spoken up a long time ago ... I shouldn't have traded my faith for this woe.”
