Shattered Dreams She gave up those that loved her On the day that she said, "I do" She knew she'd made a mistake Before the wedding was through The church hall was overflowing As her friends gathered all around For this wedding was long awaited And was the biggest one in town She had waited so many years To choose herself a special man She wondered what people would think If she refused to give him her hand But she was a lady of honesty Who pledged to say, "I do" Many years later, he's still the same Now she wishes she said, "We're through" She made her bed and now lays in it And it breaks my heart in two To know her spirit is so broken And she's not the girl, I once knew Today would have been her 22nd Anniversary Her marriage ended 11/2011 Continue to stand strong, God will see you through!
