As Long As You Follow

As long as you follow
The path through the wood,
No danger will happen your way;
But beyond the dark trees
Are horrible things
Just waiting for travelers to stray.

They wait for the moment
You step from the path
To rush in and snatch you away.
Who knows of the horror
That you may face;
Not one is alive to say.

Come, walk with me,
There's a path through the trees.
I've traveled that way before.
I left the path once;
To find mushrooms
Upon the leaf strewn floor.

Please, walk with me!
There's others to meet.
Hear voices in the breeze?
As long as you follow
Where I lead off the path,
They'll be waiting behind the trees.
