THOUGHTS OF A SOLDIER
Standing guard - on a lonely night, So far away from his homeland, With no end to this war in sight, Seeing just blood, death, dirt and sand. ~ Thinking of family and friends, Of home so very far away, A time this fighting maybe ends And he at last goes home to stay. ~ The morning will bring a new quest, Deeper into the way of harm. He knows there will be no real rest, Until he can once more feel calm. 10/16/06 Monty abab 8 syllable format.
