cloudy promise, the smell of salt
unclear navigation ahead the night stars hide behind death's call a wisp of fog, a wisp of fog behind death's call, the longing stings forbids my returning homeward friendships abated left afar the land I love, the land I love friendships abated, my heart tires our cap is a dim tomorrow my companion, the frothy sea the lonely waves, the lonely waves the frothy sea keeps sad secrets wail melancholy, I sail forth to my destiny of blurred paths a wisp of fog, a wisp of fog a wisp of fog 7 october, 2006 (written for the KansasPoet Contest} un-rhyming Monotetra form
