death visits
when the angel of death comes unexpectedly

blood diamond on the horizon
shimmering, the center of a cloudy sunset
a storm of tears
torn hope, oracles refused
panic swoops down on the anteroom of paradise
spacious room for today's existence
jasmine, tomorrow's heartache
lost on the winds of promise

black of night rain
pounding on red clay roof-tiles
hours of distraction
louder than my sobbing
the dice are thrown
a clap of thunder
static electricity
tell me I have not lost your love…

a single window among millions
yellow against midnight
one shadow shaking in silent tears
so far away from my reality
will I touch your hand once again?

no more time in the kingdom of hearts
painted in rainbow fluorescents
the abstract designs of an ultimate
moment of intimacy together
the eye of the storm
reflects the blue of your tears…
amidst the roundabout stands the angel of death
take my life, let my love know peace
remaining eternal
for tomorrow's dreams
