Winds howling around him like a coyote. Sea spray lashing at him like a bone studded whip. And as the storm battered the pier The lone man stood firm. -- The storm surge lapped over the pier, Tugging at the lone man's ankles like a deep ocean's anchor. -- The lone man knew for so long the light needed to enter this darkness. He spread his arms outward behind him -- The wind cried a deadly howl as the harsher spray stung his face. His arms grew into blazing wings. -- Like a phoenix he stood Wings outstretched with golden plume sprayed behind him into the gushing wind As the darkness fought bitterly at this intusion. The waves pounded; and the wind howled, but still the lone man stood firm. angels and demons fought for power, But once again the angel on the pier stood firm. The sun shone and the angel put back his wings, Then the lone man walked off the pier. The end. By Davin N Taylor Copyright 2006
