Turning one's back on the Lord/ Making a mends

who would have thought
now looking back
that visions of God
soon had surpassed,

AND

when he was gone
with no where to turn
i took hold of shelter
and weathered the storm,

BUT

make no mistake
it was i that left him
creating the hell
of my soul's greatest sin,

SO

i faced it alone
i questioned my worth
i cried out for help
without saying a word,

FOR

i knew that he'd hear me
if i spoke it out loud
said it and meant it
for this i'm not proud,

BUT

i didn't deserve him
because i did say
that yes oh dear Lord...i'll meet you halfway
