You’ve asked me to hold my breath.
I suppose that this is a test. But I’ll make it clear, there’s nothing to fear. My heart’s been engraved with your name. And still I’m ranked second place in this race to win your affections. My offer isn’t what you need, so it seems. Not just from me do you seek attention. But, what right do I have to complain? I wasn’t forced to participate in this game. The price I pay for giving my heart away is now more than I bargained for. It’s not like I can turn my back and still remain fully intact. I’ve traveled too far, working too hard to relinquish what I have fought for.
