rusty umber, fading green hues of fall
sudden gusts of wind blow saffron leaves high unforseen darkness announces rainfall safe behind the windows at home, I spy other leaves turn copper tints and bronze tones rusty umber, fading green hues of fall trees become skeletons, resembling stones soon comes the excitement of first snowfall two lakeside willows majestically sprawl leave silver reflections in the water rusty umber, fading green hues of fall now against the roof tiles, raindrops splatter I gaze fondly on my golden dwarf ginko fan leaves shadow my balcony wall inspired by autumn sights, I knot my scarf rusty umber, fading green hues of fall fading green hues 5 november, 2006 [2006.5.11...c] ("Sophy's Quatern" Daily Winner in the Writer's Cramp)
