The Mermaid
About mermaids

I found a mermaid
the other day.
It is so surreal to say.
My imagination got carried
away.
Her long red locks,curl around
and hug her tight,
she is shy, yet with a glint of
a smile, she waves while gleaming in the
glow of the light.
She has captured an essence only
found in the sea.
she once lived in a kingdom,
far beneath.
she will remain so in my
heart of hearts.
She is drowning
as I try to shout,
over the thundering
crash of the surf.
She is unable to climb
up to me.
A tower is shadowed
on the horizon.
I will wonder if she will return to me.
