scallywags in black dungarees
hurried home, it began to freeze

balderdash, it's too cold out there
wear an elf's cap if you've no hair

bejeezus! we crushed that devil
who's that bowling with an anvil?

atop the rainbow, who will laugh?
leprechaun with a blind man's staff!

a curse got spoken, thunder clapped
now down below, fate had them trapped

a Celtic cross won't protect you
'twas a bad time for rainy dew

though 'twill calm boiling hell, methinks
for where are thieves, the air sure stinks

a quick moral for this story?
beware of drunks in a lorry!

an early death, they're out of breath
