A KOOKABURRA'S BREAKFAST
A poem of an Australian bird "The Kookaburra" and his ability to catch his meal

A KOOKABURRA'S BREAKFAST

'Way up high in the tree he'll perch
Surveying his domain with pride.
Below, the snake, on his frantic search
Looking for a place to hide.

He laughs out loud, lifts his head to the sky
The snake cannot sense him, below.
He swoops down fast --- so glad he can fly
" One reptile breakfast --- to go!"

Back up in the tree, sheltered from rain
He looks about, eyes ever keen.
The Kookaburra laughs out loud again
The finest bird I've ever seen.
