Joyriding With the Wolfman
In Mom's Mustang, I sneak away. At fifteen years, I shouldn't dare, but take the chance and disobey while folks are out and unaware. As summer night whirls through my hair, the A M dial glows in my eye I find my soul mate on the air; together, Wolfman Jack and I. He howls, "Have mercy", as I stray then spins his tunes for all to share. "This rock and roll is here to stay" I sing, and cruise without a care. I wave to friends around town square, and feel my ego soaring high. His raspy voice, beside me blares, together, Wolfman Jack and I. Just now, in front of Honk's Cafe, a fateful CRASH brings peers to stare. My escapade has gone astray, with bumpers crushed, I flush and swear. I cringe with thoughts of parents' glare and hang my head in shame to cry. Without his laugh, I couldn't bear; together, Wolfman Jack and I. We two are now a howling pair. His famous "owwwws" through airwaves fly, while I just wail how life's unfair; together, Wolfman Jack and I. The rhyme scheme is abab bcbc... abab bcbc... etc, the meter is iambic tetrameter
