but one day I too shall be gone
though I shall love you forever
in a life of unending dawn

such a heartbreaking endeavor
to remember every morning
though I shall love you forever

oh the power of belonging
to hold you close all afternoon
to remember every morning

evening's bliss under the full moon
memories to end a lifetime
to hold you close all afternoon

your eternal love will be mine
as now I must bid you farewell
memories to end a lifetime

such dire aching I cannot quell
for one day I too shall be gone
as now I must bid you farewell
from a life of unending dawn

but one day I too shall be gone
(a terzanelle)
