one day I too shall be gone, a spirit
sailing free, a graceful swan, my spirit

high in the air I am drawn, sweet sunrise
to the freedom of a new dawn, sad spirit

I was your last losing pawn, a dull life
you toyed with my love, begone foul spirit

my emotions now forgone, tender scars
to reflection I've withdrawn, sad spirit

in death now I'm your icon, were I loved,
my musician's song bygone, my spirit

begone, foul spirit
a ghazal
