I should not be sad
because you did not say what I secretly desired the morning air is warm yesterday's rain has left my heart feeling balmy and I will brave the crowds in the afternoon city searching for smiling faces to remind me that my soul was one day free your silent words twist my heart like a sponge wringing it of emotion bringing it an aridness I did not desire how can I not lose faith in my fellow men? they will wander arm in arm looking in shop windows talking loudly on their cell phones laughing together at a café as I watch, alone trying not to be sad listening to life around me 25 november, 2006 [2006.25.11…a]
