LITTLE PEOPLE

I was looking out the window
when I saw these little guys.
I knew they were real happy
by the twinkle in their eyes.

They tried to catch each other
dancing around a flowerpot.
I think they were from the forest,
because they loved animals a lot.

They talked to all the little birds
that come here to eat their fill.
One fellow called his friend Ben,
and Ben called the other Bill.

As I watched, I saw another coming,
he was rushing down the hill.
He slipped and fell upon his knees
but he was smiling still.

His name was Fred I heard Ben say,
they invited him to come and play.
I saw three happy little people
frolic the night away.

My wife said I had a dream
and I began to think so too,
until I left to go to work,
By the flowerpot was a little shoe!
