I have changed because of you

I thought that we were in love
but in truth, it was untrue.
Now I'm afraid to love again
and it's all because of you.

Your unintended lies
cut straight through my heart
and now I'm not so trusting
to make another start.

But still I must thank you
for helping me close my doors.
I have become a new person
who shall love nevermore.
